COUPLE'S CONNECTION
with Cat and Jeff
Easy Partner Yoga and Tai Chi/ Chi Kung

Friday, May 23 7-8:30pm $30 per couple

This class is designed especially for couples to take some time together to breathe, connect, look into each other's eyes, and nourish your love connection. Together you will breathe, be guided through simple, accessible postures, learn yoga and tai chi to be done together, learn simple massage and stretching techniques, and revitalize your soul connection. Cat, Founder of the West Asheville Yoga studio, leads the yoga and massage section. Jeff is a black belt in Choy Li Fut style of Kung Fu and will guide you through simple tai chi and chi kung exercises.
All levels are welcome and encouraged

IN PRAISE OF THE GODDESS:
The Devimahatmya and its Meaning

This course will provide an introductory overview of the sacred Hindu text, 'The Devimahatmya' and its central character, the Goddess Durga. Participants will examine the scripture's history and meaning, as well as connect to Durga, her worship, and her promises for humanity. Chanting, ritual and meditation will also be a central part of this four-week course. Students are encouraged to purchase 'In Praise of the Goddess: The Devimahatmya and Its Meaning' by Devadatti Kali prior to the start of the class. The book is available by order from local booksellers and online from amazon.com and bn.com.

About the instructor, Jill Yarnall: Jill Yarnall holds degrees in philosophy and religious studies from the College of Charleston. She has studied and practiced Goddess traditions for 18 years. Over the last 10 years her devotion has focused on Durga, the central figure of 'The Devimahatmya.' Recently, Jill was featured in the scholarly text 'Offering Flowers, Feeding Skulls: Popular Goddess Worship in West Bengal.'
