When a friend casually showed me my first yoga asanas in 1998, it sparked a deep remembering, and sudden illumination of a path before me. Yoga would be a guiding force of my life, and in order to fully receive this gift, I had to share it.

I completed my first teacher training with Diane Wilson of Portland, OR in 1999. Diane is a completely unique, authentic and indescribable adept yogini and teacher whose guidance provided an unshakeable foundation for my yogic life. In 2005, I completed a 200hr vinyasa training with Jhon Tamayo and Sabina Stahl at Atmananda Yoga in NYC. During this time I spread my vinyasa wings wide, teaching many classes a week in the busy city and taking classes from many renowned teachers. Also during this time I completed beginning and advanced Thai Yoga Massage training with Kam Thye Chow of the Lotus Palm school in Montreal. In 2009 I completed a deeply inspiring 230hr Embodiyoga teacher training in Body-Mind Centering with Lisa Clark. I continue to take regular weekend intensives in this modality, which operates under the premise that every system of the body has its own quality of mind that can be tapped into, utilized and expressed.

All of these teachings and more inform my practice, and it is my own practice that most informs my classes. I strive to consistently recognize the teacher that presents itself before me in all forms, perhaps especially in this amazingly articulate vessel that is the human body.

The other great and lasting love of my life is painting. If I am not at the yoga studio, I am probably at my painting studio in the River Arts District. I grew up in these sweet ancient mountains, and after giving into wanderlust for a number of years, am SO grateful to the call the beautiful community I find in Asheville my true home sweet home.
