Benefit from six hours of myofascial release, strength practice, yoga and experiential anatomy for less than the cost of one private session. Adaptogenic Movement blends ancient yogic philosophy with current evidence-based research in Biomechanics, Exercise Science and chronic pain management. Spend November investigating the torso – from back to belly, to chest and sides and discover a potent repository of body wisdom. As the protector of the major organs, the hub in the wheel of full body mobility and the energetic emotional sleeve; it pays to keep this area strong, resilient and balanced. (That goes double during the holiday season 😉 Learn about 5 Common Postural Distortions and gain insight into your own structure. Use that insight to inform and transform movement patterns in ANY activity to increase pleasure and decrease pain. Let the shapes you make improve the shape you’re in.
Week 1 opens with chest and shoulder attachments. Week 2 addresses the abdominals, viscera and hip flexors
Week 3 luxuriously details out the spine and back. Week 4 concludes by fine tuning the ribcage and diaphragm.
Support yourself each Sunday with:
- Mindfulness practices in a community setting
- Therapeutic rolling to Release tension and clear neuromuscular pain patterns
- Yin poses and targeted stretching to Lengthen short, tight areas
- Functional movement and asana to Strengthen deconditioned muscle groups
- Whole body patterns to Integrate positive change deep into the joints, tissues and neuromotor complex
- Breathwork, visualization and stillness to Relax and Reset the nervous system
